Find out whether your water contains E. coli without sending a sample to a lab. E. coli is the main indicator of faecal contamination. Find out whether your water contains E. coli without sending a sample to a lab. E. coli is the main indicator of faecal contamination. It points to something getting into the supply, such as animals in a tank, runoff into a bore or a breach in storage or pipework.

The Aquagenx® Gel EC CFU Test detects E. coli and counts the colonies (CFU) in your sample, so you know how much is there, not just whether it’s present.

Suitable for domestic use: rainwater tanks, bores, tap water, raw water sources and recreational water.

For caravan parks, resorts, remote schools and work sites: if you’re off town water and a long way from a laboratory, regular testing can be hard to arrange. This kit makes it practical. Test on site, get a result without couriers or lab turnaround, and know your water is safe for your guests, students or staff.

When to test: after heavy rain, after tank cleaning or roof work, if the water changes taste or smell, or as a routine monthly check.

The Australian Drinking Water Guidelines say E. coli should not be detected in drinking water. Our free Understanding your results guide explains what your count means and what to do next.

Distributed in Australia by Water Check.

If E. coli is detected, don’t drink the water until it has been treated and retested. If you have health concerns, contact your local council or state health department.
